I don't agree with it

but it is not inconcievable. Basically they swapped Porland and the Clippers from what many others feel the top 10 are.

Yeah right.

The justification for the Clippers is “Seemingly every year, one team in each conference makes a jump up the standings. We’re betting that team could be the Clippers this year.”

This is dumb because, not only would the Clips have to make a jump, they would have to make a jump of EPIC proportions. Like, seriously, near the level of the jump that the Celtics made last year.

Seeing as they did not acquire Kevin Garnett in the offseason, I call shenanigans.

Word.

Get your broom!

I had to log in just for that. Excellent use of calling shenanigans

The Los Angeles Clippers ...

are one move away from making a jump into playoff contention. I commented last month that Mike Dunleavy, Sr. should offer up Cuttino Mobley, Tim Thomas, and a future first-round draft pick (via the Minnesota Timberwolves {top-ten protected through 2011 & unprotected in 2012}) to the New Jersey Nets for Vince Carter and Sean Williams.

Furthermore, Chad Ford brought up essentially the same idea in his most recent column; he wrote that “[it] would help the Nets cut costs and give the Clippers a better shot at being competitive.”

WOW!

In my best Christopher Walken voice.

"The next day in practice, if you sweat, it's going to come out of your pores, regardless. If you ask any coach around the league how many times they have smelled liquor on a player . . . As long as that player is showing up on time, doing the drills and running, that's part of it. But there have been times, yeah. Yeah, you probably smelled liquor on me. But it's not like I'm at practice drunk. I'm totally focused."

If you read it on the internets ...

Then it must be true, I guess we should call off the season.

I only read it on the one, so it's not true?

While I don't agree with their evaluations in several instances....

…. it’s not like they are smoking dope.

As AK points out, the Clips could be one move away from being a contender in the West. Kamen is a good center, they added two veterans with first class bonifides. They have a couple of nice young players in Thornton and Gordon. It could be argued they have a big edge over Portland in terms of experience.

Personally, I expect to see Portland with a better record at the end of the year, that could be due to my being overly optimistic about my team.
