letdown of epic proportions

I was so excited to see that comcast sport net was available on my dish network so I added a sports package that would give me access. Only to find out that the NW region is not available. What a let down and the season is about to start. I just cannot believe that this has dragged on so long and such a large number of fans are out in the cold. The greedy behemoth that is comcast will never be in my household again.

Hurts, doesn't it?

I had this sort of thing happen once, where I called DTV and asked about the channel. The nice chick at Comcast said “Yeah, we added the Sportsnet channel.” My heart raced and my palms got sweaty and I said “are you sure it’s NW?” “Ohhhhhhh, I’m sorry sir, it’s Comcast Sportsnet West.”

The greedy behemoth

Comcast paid over $100M for the Blazers, do you expect them to give it away? Comcast has made deals with Verizon, its most direct competitor, and several small cable companies. BendBroadband says Comcast is asking $2.00 a month from its Preferred Digital Package customers for CSNNW (they currently pay $47.95) and its other customers wouldn’t be affected at all. Dish Network is refusing to pay for CSNNW and it’s still getting your money. Dish Network is not giving you what you want because they make more money that way. They are laughing while you and Canzano complain about Comcast. So who’s “The greedy behemoth”?

everyone has their hands dirty

everyone except the fans who have no choice at least.

Other providers, comcast, the blazers, hell even the nba for their large black out radius.

And they both get dirty. Its not like I am too cheap to pay for my entertainment, you want to dance you got to pay the band, but why does it have to leave a bad taste in your mouth?

We can't even pay $ 100 a game.

Unlike the Willamette Valley, we don’t have an
alternative cable company. Charter is our exclusive
cable company here in the Rogue Valley (majority
owned by PA) and the sattelite companies are no help.
Meanwhile, the People’s Republic of Ashland has
COINCAST Sports NW on their little dinky cable system.
Sucks x 1,000,000.
Time to step it up a NOTCH !

DOWN WITH COINCAST, CHARTER & THE SATS !
Love the team, but the Blazers business management needs
a new brain !

It's GO time !

The funny thing is...

I read somewhere that Charter is one of Paul Allen’s companies. Where’s the Blazer luv, PA?

By the way, I also live in the Rogue Valley. But last year I cancelled Charter and got Direct TV with NBA League Pass. I was able to watch all but two games last year with LP. This year every single game will be shown on League Pass. Another cool thing is that I have the option to watch it via the internet with LP. That way if the wife or the kids have that special movie or show they just have to watch, I can retreat to the computer room and not miss a single bounce of the ball. I used that feature a lot last year. It helped keep the peace – and the wifely frowns to a minimum. Also, the TIVO function is really cool.

the only people I feel sorry for

are those who don’t have access to comcast cable. if you’re somewhere in the state where comcast doesn’t provide coverage, that sucks man, I feel for you and I would hope comcast would extend its network at some point. but if you are a local who just chooses to have dish over comcast? why would anyone feel sorry for you? just get comcast. its their freaking channel. if it weren’t for comcast, we’d be forced to weed through mariners and big 12 college football games on FSN…god I hate that channel almost as much as I hated listening to 1080.
seriously, dish companies are just as guilty when it comes down to it. and for those of you who have no choice, sorry for the rant!

Afew years ago, a broadcaster once said Pryzbilla's name is "Polish for 'personal foul.'" Ouch.

I used to work for comcast and I have seen thier BS from the inside

I don’t need your stupid freaking sympathy anyway. At least I know my rates won’t go up every couple of months on dish. I am so happy that you love comcast. I for one hate comcast because they are leveraging the public so they can charge outrageous prices that keep going up-up-up. I used to work in the comcast call center in Beaverton and if you had my experience with them you might see it different. In the end I will still get to see the Blazers, at least my money ain’t going to a messed up company like comcast.

What's worse

Are those damn ads of theirs, where they show you a great highlight from the Blazers, Ducks, etc. and then cut into a snowy screen and in the most condescending and jerkish and pissy manner tell you that YOU need to contact your provider to get Comcast. GEE, YA THINK?! You don’t think we’ve done that? Strike a deal already!

It’s like giving you a birthday cake and then throwing it in your face while pissing on your brand new Nikes. Jerks,

Also

The reason I haven’t switched to Comcast is because the fact of the matter is, their service compared to other providers is piss-poor. Their HDTV feeds are inferior and compressed as much as possible so that they can cram as many bad channels into their service as they want.

Don’t believe me? Go here:

What upsets me most

Even though I ain’t anywhere near Portland, it doesn’t apply to me, and I will always get League Pass because I wanna watch other teams too, the BLACK OUT that applies to people who have NO ACCESS to Comcast in the first place really bugs me.

Even if the channel eventually gets picked up by other providers, the fact a lot of people who don’t live anywhere close to Portland get the home games blacked out on League Pass and have no way to get Comcast (and thus, are forced to change their provider to a satellite, if a deal is ever struck with them) is incredibly unfair, and makes no sense in the short or long term.

I understand a good deal needs to be struck for the deal to make sense. But to STILL have a black out radius for areas that cannot possibly get the channel in any way is just flat out DUMB.

Even if ya get League Pass, the home games are blacked out.

It just encourages people to watch illegal feeds, when most everyone is willing to pay to watch the games if they only could have access. The fact that it is easier for me in Los Angeles to watch every Blazer game, than someone 40 miles outside of Portland with no access to Comcast, puts bees in my britches.

THIS TEAM IS TOO AWESOME TO BE MISSED.

You're not KP...

You’re Phil Jackson, aren’t you? You closet Blazer fan you! You could come in handy when we face the Lakers in the WC Finals. Don’t play Kobe in the fourth quarters, and Blazer victory is guaranteed!
