Ten Possible Trades
Here is a good article about ten possible trades the Blazers could do with the LaFrentz contract. It is pretty interesting in what teams and player might be had and which ones for sure won't. Looks like the numbers just don't line up for Rudy Gay. The article is from Portland Trail Bloggers, which I guess is a rival site? It's another Blazers blog that you guys may or may not read, but I enjoy it and thought I would pass along the story.

I stopped reading when I read the first proposal (RLEC/Outlaw for Rudy Gay).
Trying not to be too harsh here, but anyone can put up a blogsite. Filling it with quality writing and reasonable, rational thoughts and analysis is a whole other thing. Once again I’m reminded how lucky we are to have Dave and Ben here.

Exactly!
Obviously, Rudy Gay isn’t on the trading block.
Even if Kevin Pritchard decidedly offered LaMarcus Aldridge and Travis Outlaw to the Memphis Grizzlies for Gay and Darko Milicic, Chris Wallace and his cohorts wouldn’t pull the trigger. Once Gay ups his focus and intensity on defense, he’ll become a force to be reckoned with for the forseeable future. Hell, the same goes for Aldridge.
Again, though, it’s not a reasonable trade proposal.

Actually
with OJ Mayo on board they might go for Aldridge and Outlaw for Gay and Darko. We would never do it of course, but Outlaw > Darko (especially considering their contracts) and Aldridge is 5 inches taller than Gay (and a much bigger pimp).

If I was Kevin Pritchard, ...
then I certainly wouldn’t do it.
It was just a hypothetical, although not one that I’d endorse due to Rudy Gay’s defensive weaknesses.

Gay...
They actually talked about the possibility of this trade for about 10 minutes on the last Blazers podcast. You have to remember how cheap Memphis is… But the article is also about how this WONT happen… Remember?

I want my two minutes back!
That was a complete waste of time.

My 2 Cents
Each time KP talks about next summer, he mentions how important all that cap space is to Mr. Allen. There will not be a trade of Raef unless there is a bad injury and we still are on track for the playoffs, or there is an offer that is too good to be true.

What's the difference......
…….if they get their player during the season or after the season, besides the method of attainment? They’ll trade RLEC if they get what they want. But I agree, they won’t trade him just trade him.

One is a trade and one is wine and dining free agents in the summer
I don’t think Mr. Allen has ever had cap space to play with.

Doug nailed it.
This was a piece of crap. They guy says 10 reasonable trades – as in having a reasonable chance of occurring – and then proceeds to explain why over half of them don’t stand a chance of working. That’s the only part he got right. Somewhat. The only one I saw as having a “reasonable” chance is Vince Carter and that only counts if the Blazers decide for some strange reason they want him – not likely.

man guys
calm down. lol He did a decent job on the piece, most of those “trades” have been listed before many many times. He is just going through each of them and stating why they won’t happen, I found it interesting and for the most part true. I don’t think he was personally coming up with trade proposals, then stating why they won’t happen, because well, that just doesn’t make any sense. My guess is some time this season before the trade deadline Peter Vesay or someother talking head will do a similar piece, and it will be worse than this one.
