We met all of the Blazers players Friday night in Kansas City!
We would love to share our story with all of the Trail Blazers fans and Portland Oregon. We want to thank the Blazers President Larry Miller for making this experience a dream come true. We recentlymoved from Portland to Topeka Kansas . We are extremely excited about this up and coming Portland Trailblazers team this season. We were able to go to many games last year and the games we did not make we watched on t.v.. However, this season we were devastated for we knew it just wasn't going to be the same. No Portland,No Rose Garden! Just thousands of miles away from Blazer Nation. We discovered the Blazers were going to be playing a pre season game in Kansas City Missouri one hour away from from our home, no words could describe how happy we were. We had one final oppurtunity to see our team play in person.Little did we know a much bigger dream was about to come true! We were walking around inside the sprint center before the game. We were dressed in our blazer gear. Then a guy in a suit walks up to us and I could not believe my eyes, it was Larry Miller the President of the Blazers. We talked Blazers and told hom our story about moving to Kansas from Portland. We asked him if the team was staying all nigh and he said no they were leaving right after the game t go to the airport. H e then asked us where we were sitting and we told him upper level. Then Larry reached in his suit and asked us if we wanted two tickets in section 105 but they were not together and he said you probably want to sit together though. We said yes we did and tanked him anyways.Larry then said that if we can find him down by the court after the game that he would give us passes to go back and meet the Blazers. We knew we had to find a way down to him because thiswas the chance of a lifetime! We moved down to the 100 level in the 4th quarter. The ushers were everywhere and the lady told us we had to go to our seats and that we could not stand there. With 2 minutes left in the game we started heading down the stairs as a few fans were exiting. We were so nervous our hearts were racing. We didn't stop until we found some empty seats behind the Blazers bench. When the game endeede we jumped up and made our way over to Larry Miller. When our eyes met he smiled and reached into his suit and handed us 2 passes to wear around our neck. We thanked him and made our way through the tunnel and to the outside of the Blazers locker room. We stood by about 5 reporters including Jason Quick of the Oregonian. We watched Nate McMillan give an interview. Afterwards we introduced ourselves to Nate. He talked about the Blazers with us and said Portland misses us. He said he was happy we got to see them play again. Nate answered all of our questions he was in no hurry at all.We told him we were going to go see them play in oklahoma city in february this year . He said that would be great. He even told us the hotel they were staying at in Oklahoma and told us to call him. Nate opened up his briefcase and gave us a sharpie to get autographs with. As he signed our hat ,Greg Oden walked out and Nate said we better catch Greg because his autograph is worth alot more than mine. We all laughed. Nate was great!! So we ran after Greg Oden and shook his hand and got his autograph. We met Shavlik Randolph,Luke Jackson, bayless,Sergio,Hill, Kevin Pritchard. Last but not least , we got to meet Travis Outlaw and LaMarcus Aldridge. They were both friendly and alot of fun. We walked them through the tunnel and to there bus.We tried to convince Travis to enter the Slam Dunk Contest this year. We saw only 3 Blazers Jerseys in the crowd of 12,000 plus. We were lucky they spotted us and allowed us to go backstage. This goes to show you that the Blazers Organization believe in there fans as much as we believe in them. We would like to say thank you to the Blazers for making this experience one we will remember forever. Thank you to all of the Blazers players for being so nice and giving us autographs.Thank you Nate McMillan for your time and thoughtfulness. Thank you Larry Miller,President of the Portland Trail Blazers, for going above and beyond for us. Thanks for turning one special night into a dream come true.
GO BLAZERS!!!!!
SEE YOU IN OKLAHOMA!!
Thanks,
Shannon and Megan

The Blazers are so cool.
I bet Sheed, Stale Davis, and Bonzi would have never done anything like this.
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

Good thinking.
Although he is no where near as negative as he used to be.
I still don’t like him by the way.

Disagree
I think he was negative before, and he would be the first to admit he didn’t get along with several players. I’m not saying whose fault that was, but he certainly had a big platform to vent and talk bad about players.

I stay in Honolulu. But I am excited for you.
I’ll send you twenty bucks if you manage to use the word “sibilance” while your talking to him.
P.S. Make sure you don’t say anything like, “Thanks for taking my call.” It probably won’t come up since you’re call is prearranged.

Funny story about that
I called in last week and specifically said " Thanks for taking my call" only because I know how much he hates it. Of course he said something as soon as I hung up. He is so annoying.
When asked about his thoughts during the Olympic games about playing against Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard, Rudy responded "My first thought was respect. My second thought was to kick their ass".
Man I love him.

Canzano is a b%#$!
I always disliked him, but I hate him now. About a year ago the commissioner of Major League Soccer was talking w/Canzano on the phone about MLS soccer and Portland having a team in the very near future, 2011. But, Canzano emphasized many, many times that Major League Soccer is “MINOR” league and always will be. Then, he hung up on the commissioner!!! wtf? Turns out the owner of his station at the time is a huge soccer fan and Canzano had to give a formal apology. Shows he has NO class!

He is really irritating. My irritation with him in general was magnified about 10X when I heard him on the radio.
To be honest, I didn’t like the way he would stalk the players from The Era That Shall Not Be Named. I wasn’t genreally enthralled with what was going on with the Blazer organization at the time, but the way he went about getting some of his stories was distasteful and creppy, IMO.

canzano is like a broken record,
let me preface this with the fact that my hearing is absolutely horrible and my pet peeve is people who repeat themselves, but if someone repeats themselves when i heard them they just end up pissing me off…
but i am tired of his ‘there is nothing negative to talk about so i will just cram jailblazers era in contrast to post-jailblazers era’ schtik, and would rather he just come on the air and say ‘golly gee guys i’ve got nothing to say, here’s john strong to talk about the timbers army’,
i’ll admit he can be a good interviewer (depends on if he’s got beef with the person he’s interviewing, because if he has beef why interview them he only asks rhetorical questions), besides that the only reason I’ll listen is because he’s on before wheels.

That’s hard to read with no line breaks to rest our thoughts, so since I am bored I decided to break it up into pieces for others to read. Here goes:

Just kidding (ok maybe not but oh well) . Anyway, you too are very lucky and deserve that treatment because you are soo dedicated. Thanks for being such classy fans. I dont really care for Larry Miller much but it’s all right, he’s a classy dood too. How was KP ? Is it just me , or has he lost weight?

K.P. WAS VERY COOL AND SO WAS LARRY MILLER
Kevin Pritchard was a nice guy.We talked to his daughter she was funny and she had about 3 girlfriends with her. We watched Kevin Pritchard get interviewed by a guy from Lawrence, Kansas who wrote a story on the front page about Kevin Pritchard when he went to KU in college! The guy saved the article and gave it to K.P. he thanked the guy and Kevin said man that was a long time ago. Larry Miller was the nicest guy he went out of his way to get these passes and keep them in case we found him after the game. He really was a great guy!

did you invite the other Blazer jerseys when you saw them?
I suppose that would have been pushing it.
But still, I feel bad for the other Blazer fans who happened to be there but did not have the incredible good fortune of meeting Larry Miller.
This Larry Miller dude sounds like some kind of Santa Claus figure. What does he do, just walk around wherever he goes with extra back stage passes? What if you had been a group of 5 or 10 Blazer fans. Would he have pulled out an equal number of passes, all attached to little neck bands? You guys really hit the jackpot.
The perfect is the enemy of the good.
According to James Kunstler, who writes a well-respected if slightly profane financial blog whose title I cannot repeat here, "The Republicans must be clearly identified as the party that wrecked America... it's hard to imagine the American people giving the clean-up task to the very group that created the mess -- no matter how many cute little faces Sarah Palin can make on TV."

He’s always looking for trouble.
It’s a really cool story. My only complaint is why didn’t you take the 100 level tickets? The trick is to get both and then have the hot girl ask people to move down so you can be together.
