Quick's Sunday Update

Quick writes about Outlaw's role, Rudy with Roy starting at the wings, the players who will sit out of Sunday's game (Blake, Frye, Rudy, Przybilla, Roy, and Aldridge), and a few thoughts on Batum.

Sunday starting line-up: Sergio, Jerryd, Travis, Shavlik, Greg

Shavlik is getting a serious look for the last roster spot. Sergio and Jerryd were an effective pairing against Atlanta. Nate giving Travis every opportunity to shoot his way out of his slump. Greg continues to get in shape.

Also of note: really looking like Rudy starting at the 2 with Roy at the 3

if Travis doesn’t catch fire by the end of camp. That’s cool.

Get Shavlik out of my face.

Everywhere I go I have to hear his name. Do we really need five power forwards?(Aldrdge, Frye, Ike, Outlaw) A third of the team at one position? I hope it goes to Hill.

Well call up Nate & KP and and direct them to waive Shavlik now

without giving him another look.

Even if they do ultimately go with Hill, you have to look at a guy that’s 10/10 from the field in 23 minutes of play.

That was swell

It was nice to read it after reading the Batum or Webster fanpost. I don’t care who gets the 15th roster spot, but what does it say about Ike if Shavlik Randolph gets the start instead? It’s the preseason and might mean nothing, but it sure is strange to me.

Blazers Edge has an alarmist vision and a poet's heart.

SR on board?

I think that KP and his mighty staff just might sign this guy. Remember how Blazer fans were shocked when Randolph got the nod to come to training camp? Apparently the coaching staff has had him on their radar. What little I have seen him play, I have to believe that he has more game than Jackson and we don’t need Tatum. So, that leaves Hill.
I’d love to see Hill on the coaching staff. He doesn’t really need a roster spot. Or they could waive Ike. Go Blazers!

what was up with that

McMillian quote about most plays being run for SG, PF, and….C(?) I didnt know Joel was getting a lot of designed touches. Anyone care to clear that up? Maybe he was talking about LMA or Channing when they play C?

Life is exhausting when you are this stupid.

Clearing Room For The Blazers Out West

As the playoff picture begins to take shape it becomes clear that the Western Conference is one big game of musical chairs. There are nine viable playoff teams; unfortunately there are only eight playoff spots. For the Blazers to get a spot, one of last year's playoff teams needs to fall off. Someone's going to be caught standing when the music stops. The following are possible scenarios that could derail each team on their quest for playoff glory, helping the Blazers get back to the postseason for the first time since 2003.
