Nice
nice warriors reference. Now if we could all bring bottles to the stadium, put them on our fingers, clink them together while we chant "Warriors...come out and playyey" It would be a sure win for the Blazers.

Cram it down their throats
Pound it inside, to LMA, to Joel.  They can't stop us inside.

Get inside Jax' head, and he'll be out of the picture.

Anyone know how Roy is doing?  This one will be tough, tougher than the Jazz were, if he's out.  They are a better road team right now than the Jazz.

I think they brought their "A" game for the Spurs and will have a letdown, though.  If Roy is ok, we should beat them, and we might whip them -- if they get down, I don't know that they'll come back at us.

Baron Davis
Dave mentioned that Davis has been on a tear lately.  Boy howdy!  Did you see his numbers from Golden State's last game (an overtime win vs the Spurs)?  34 points (11-18), 6 Rebs, & 14 Assists.  Yikes!  Worse yet, Davis has probably about had it with hearing this upstart, Brandon Roy, rated above him as an all-star selection. Worst of all, Brandon (assuming he plays) will be less than 100%.  I hope this isn't a perfect storm brewing for a Golden State victory...

It would be sweet....
...to beat the Warriors after they beat the Spurs (and that's with the Spur's big three all playing). I realize the property of transitivity doesn't exactly apply here (if A > B, and B > C, then A > C), but still it'd feel good to know we're competing with teams that are competing with (and beating) the best. "Warriors can beat the Spurs, but not the Baby Blazers". I like the sound of that.
When feeling discouraged about the Blazers' learning process, just remember that at least the Jail Blazer era is over.

big game
all games against our fellow Western playoff contenders are big.  This one is also important in that its our last chance to defend home court before the long road trip.

Go Blazers!

Winnable?
Ya know, ya never know which Warriors team will show up.  Could be the Spurs beaters, could be the irrational implosive brick chucking team that could possibly lose to the Heat on any given night.

I hope the Blazers stay mentally strong, allow the Warriors to beat themselves in the head, and pound it inside.  It was beautiful how Nate forced NELLY (the king of forcing coaches to match up with him) to play bigger than he wanted by force feeding dominant offensive dynamo big man Pryzzle, and I'm sure we'll see the same thing but better with LMA tonight.

They don't have anyone who can handle LMA, and he is more than quick enough to hang with the Warriors run n' gun game.  This could be a very big game for LaMarcus, and I think he's up for it.  HOWEVER, when the smaller Warriors swarm him like they did to Dirk, he has to stay calm and make the smart easy pass.

Every game is a big game.

Hey, I hope Roy is okay too.  If not, rest big boy!  Play with yo' bay-bee and get right for the road trip!

answering my own question. LMA was out that game.

looks like Martell had the flu and didnt play much.

looks like Travis went nuts for 22 and 8 and Pryz doubled up.

Should be an interesting game if Brandon plays so both squads are at full strength.

I'd have to talk
more with GSOM as to why he's not getting playing time.  Just a numbers game?  Attitude?  Out of shape?  Doesn't fit Nellie's style?

My take
He can do good stuff, is a good defender, but takes bad shots and can be maddeningly inconsistent.  I don't feel he would be a upgrade over our SFs, but I also don't think he has reached his potential.

I was thinking the exact same thing
I was kind of amazed that the ratty shirt and crummy tie ensemble got past the producer.

Has to go.

Or do we bother messing with chemistry yet?

you must mean
the drive into 3 defenders and commit a turnover or pray for a foul role.  This is very important but something tells me we will be ok...

Love this quote....
Nate at the Post-Game Press Conference:
"I was excited to play these guys again.  I wanted to see how they handle playing a team with "the Perception" of being a good team."

I know he doesn't mean they are not a good team, but with their record is it a legitimate question to ask?  Are they really THAT good?

NOpe. We beat them after all
I'm still having a hard time accepting that we're really that good.  So of course, any team we beat... just isn't that good.

The logical conclusion to this is that there are VERY few good teams in the NBA this year.

hmmm.

So do teams suck this year or are the blazers really that amazing?

I'm in the Bay Area
I listened to the first part of the Warriors post game show.  They were very complementary of the Blazers- basically their take was that the Warriors were tired but that the Blazers played exceptionally well and dominated from the get go.

They all agreed that the Blazers would go 2-5 on the road trip and they said that wouldn't be that bad.  I agree that 2-5 is very possible and wouldn't be a terrible trip, but I think we can get 3.  4 would be a very impressive trip.

Great job by the Blazers to defend the home court and get out on a good note.
