What if it Hadn't?
How would changing one move from the past affect the Blazers' present and future?
The Blazers are currently young, talented, and primed to contend for many years to come, partly as a result of having done things poorly for several years. All that losing allowed us to draft high enough to pick Oden and Webster, and swing trades for Roy and Aldridge. But what if we hadn't made one decision from the past few seasons? What if we kept Jermaine O'Neal, or drafted Al Jefferson instead of Sebastian Telfair? What if we didn't re-sign Theo Ratliff, or if we hired Marc Iavaroni instead of Nate McMillan? Pick one point in time, one decision, and make a case for what would have occurred had the move not been made.

Everyone
Jermaine proabably would've become an all-star, we would've traded Rasheed and built around him. Like Indiana we would've given him a max contract. We be a consistent playoff team but O'Neal's contract would make it hard to get other players and he's frequently injured.
So overall I'm not losing sleep over it.

I think if the Blazers still had Fred Jones, they Blazers would be undefeated this season and would have gone undefeated in the playoffs.
With Coach Cheeks
I mean, Nate's OK, but if you're looking for a championship....

Sorry for my typo in the other comment. I hate that junk, I do not hate other poster's typos, just my own.

Every season, there are typically only about four teams that have a legit shot at the trophy, leaving 87% of teams on the outside looking in. For every team on the rise, one is in decline. The worst situation isn't that your team stinks, it's that your team is passably mediocre. The Clippers, Bucks, etc. Remember the Rod Strickland years?
