Posters

Let's say i wanted to buy a poster of a specific play or dunk...like outlaw over carney, for instance, or perhaps broy in the middle of switching hands around bosh

does anyone know where i could go to do this?

I hear mike rice yell, "smile, you're on a poster" but i have no idea where to buy it.

An honest half educated guess
I think you have to wait for the Blazers, the player, or photographer to publish the poster.  If you tried to make one on your own, from a photo off the internet, you would need an friend at a photo place to do it because of copyright laws.  Even Walmart makes posters from photos, but only if you took it or have permission to republish it.

If you're interested...
the photos can be purchased. It looks like the NBA uses Getty Images for their photos. Type 'Travis Outlaw' into the search bar to get images of Travis Outlaw (although I didn't see a photo there of his nasty dunk). As for price, it looks like you have to give them your e-mail address for that, and I wasn't ready to do that much to find out. If you want to know more, that might be a reasonable, and legal, place to check out for more information.

alright
i'll check through there...yeah i figured there might be some legal issues...i'm more than willing to pay but if back alley is my only option i wouldnt rule it out

If you want a decent looking poster...
...buy the full sized image. The stuff you download off the net is nowhere near print quality, even for a 4x5 card, much less a poster. It looked like they had the 3000ish x 3000ish sized images available, which are adequate for even a 30 x 20 poster. Back alley stuff is likely to generate a response of "I think those square things almost resemble Travis' face. Almost."

agreed
on the quality standpoint, which is why i'd rather go legit anyway...but the getty site doesn't have a shot of that dunk, so i may have to turn elsewhere

Just did
a Google image search and got "Results 1 - 20 of about 32,600 for Travis Outlaw".  Now I don't know if any of the 32,600 are the image you are looking for - the aren't arranged in chronological order (which would be a wonderful thing for them to add) so they change each time you search it.  A couple are from this season's games tho.

I went to the Blazer site cuz there's always a game photo w/Barrett's blog, but that one wasn't there.  If you look at Travis' photos on the site they are only old ones - I see Zach, Dixon, and even Ha in one.  There is a great one of him in the air for "the Memphis shot" on Barrett's blog, but no info as to the photographer or if it is for sale.

I'd contact the Blazers - maybe if Casey has his email addy posted try him first.  The only time I've contacted them via their site I've never gotten a reply, but I'd still let Casey know you are interested in PURCHASING a picture/poster and maybe the Blazers would start making these available.

BTW, everything on Google Images is NOT Travis.  They are pictures from stories that include Travis' name.  One that cracked me up on one thumbnail page says "Brandon Roy & Travis Outlaw" but it is actually a picture of Durant and a very thin Oden - probably on draft day.  The blurb mentions Oden will be joining a team that includes "Brandon Roy & Travis Outlaw" and that's the part that became the caption.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
