"Rise With Us" - Express Yourself
As some of you may know, my real job is as a reporter for KXL AM (Home of the Blazers, baby), and we're doing a follow up story on the flap around the "Rise With Us" sign. I'd like to hear from the FANS what they think about this. Does it make you mad? Do you agree with the city and its anonymous tipster? Would you rather be fishing?
You can contact me via e-mail at chris.brown@kxl.com, or call the news room at 503-417-7630 and ask for Chris Brown. I'll be here until about noon, and I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks!
~Chris Brown

Keep off my lawn
Somebody needs a hug and a kick out of town. Really, that's what they do with their spare time, find something to complain about? What's that say about their life?
Sure, take the sign down, but force the tipster to sit through The Sound of Music, A Beautiful Life, and Scrooge.

Thoughts?
I can understand if it obstructs something of beauty or creates a blight. I'd love to keep portland beautiful too. It doesn't though. In addition to that, this sign (although i STILL say the saying is complete corn dog and I still roll my eyes) is part of portland's culture. It may not be an attack on the blazers, but it certainly feels like it and I'm sure that's why many people are rather irked.
I suppose blazermania will never be what it was because of the diversity of this city and area, but it'd be nice to think that everyone was on board and behind the blazers and someone acting in this manner really feels like they're not.
Maybe blazermania will come back after we win our first championship? Maybe it won't. The blazers did a lot of damage for a long time. We'll see. I'll remain hopeful. Maybe in a few years the grinch will realize that the blazers rock and won't care if a banner of theirs violates some portland code.
Or maybe they'll just be small hearted and mean spirited for the rest of their life.
For my part... i'd kick the bastard in the shins REALLY HARD!
That's just what I do though.

I know "who" did it
I found out after I moved to Hawaii that two dogs killed my cat. A lady with a similar looking cat identified our cat from the posters to the dog owner. The nice lady took the time to call us and give us the bad news. I still don't know how my three legged cat ended up over a block away and over a fence with two German Shepherds.
Anyhow, I am pretty sure the same "people" who tear down missing cat posters are the ones who complained about the "Rise With Us" sign.
