Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Stats on 3 previous games against New Orleans

First game was a loss in New Orleans November 2nd and the the next two were wins in the Rose Garden November 7th and December 17th.  James Jones missed the 11/7 game and LaMarcus Aldridge missed the 12/17 game.

I like stats on particular match ups to see which players have the most advantageous match ups against a particular team.  These stats are prone to early statistic anomalies.  So you can't infer too much.  But still, I like to look at them because between games I scavenge for more indications that the next game will be a great one.

Sergio had two steals in 36 minutes
which i think is .055 steals per minute.

Thanks
My formatting had no digits to the right of the decimal on that cell, so it rounded to zero.  mea culpa.  I'll edit it above.  Of course Sergio is tops in that stat!

Oh yeah, sorry
I get my stat ladies messed up.  I equate stats with Jorga unless they are regarding Sergio.

I really don't know how I messed that up.  I think it is because I'm all messed up and distraught over Heath Ledger's death.

Yeah, that was wierd
Brad Renfro dying is like "Well, no surprise there" but Heath Ledger?  That sucks, I liked him.  He was a good actor.  Plus he has a young kid.  It's just a shame.

Oh well.  The Blazers are awesome.

For having so many players w/ significant minutes
...I am always so pleased to see how well balanced the Trail Blazers are.  It is truly a team effort with lots of shining stars which rotate in and out of the spotlight everyone doing their part to make the W.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
