The day after his Kanicks got their butts kicked by the Celtics in a foul-filled game, Isiah Thomas remarked that what the Knicks need is "a Kevin Garnett".
While that's stating the obvious--there are 29 teams that could use a KG, and even the Celts wouldn't mind a second, I'm sure--perhaps Isiah can be assisted in his great quest for an NBA title in New York. (Which will happen first, BTW--the Knicks win a title, or OJ finds the real killer?)
After all, languishing on the Blazers bench, recovering from knee surgery, is a player once touted as the next KG--I speak, of course, of one Darius Miles. He'd love to go play for the Knicks, I'm sure. He'd be reunited with Zach and his boddy Q-Rich, and Bassy's cousin plays there. And Isiah can have this great prospect, this lottery pick, for a small pittance--a couple of role players like Renaldo Balkman and David Lee. Heck--I'd even be willing to thrown in as many second round picks as Isiah likes, and/or a young prospect like Josh McRoberts. I'd even be willing to take back a bad contract like Malik Rose (definitely not the next Kevin Garnett and will never be) just to make the salaries work (http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=4428753)
Come-on, Isiah. You took advantage of Kevin Pritchard once, landing Z-bo for next to nothing. There's still water in that well. Do it, before McHale beats you to it.
