Around SBN: Dissecting Nick Diaz's Positive Drug Test

Smooth

It's funny to think about after witnessing BRoy take over the game inthe fourth quarter, but LaMarcus issuch a big key to the Blazers gettingto the championship. He is such a physical specimen in his combinationof length, speed and agility. The NBA has quite a few 6'11" power forwards, but how many can match his speedover 94 feet ? KG ? Duncan ? Sheed ?Certainly not Dirk. I find it unusualthat he has the great touch in his top of the reach jumper to go with the length, speed and agility. Hencethe nickname "SMOOTH". He even speaks with that smooth Texas drawl.      I can't wait for the inevitable8-10 lbs of core muscle that his frequent forays into the weight roomwill produce. That will allow him toadd strength to his package, and turnthe finesse finishes into thunder dunks.Add the left wing face up power dribble to the righty hook, to his back to the basket version of Hakeeem's dream shakeand Smooth has all the tools!

Sam "Big Smooth" Perkins ...
will have something to say about that nickname.

I love Big Smooth!
My dad and I here in Eugene have been watching all of the games, and I have been up to about 10 or so and I absolutely agree that Big Smooth is his nickname.

Sam Perkins can always lay claim to it, I have no problem with admitting we poached it, but LMA is so damn smooth. Look at his averages and people say he is struggling, including us! That is great, but it is also great knowing that he will improve and up his production later this year (think back to the second half of last year, Charlotte game in particular) and next year. Good call walkoff!

Hate the game, not the player.

Ugh, I can't stand it
Let's just say a VERY bad experience involving police and me in my sophomore year in college. That and the fact that as a waiter, all of the old folks order that crap on ice, it makes me wanna vomit! I like where the thought is at though. How about Shaft, because he is the "private dick with all the chicks" and of course, he is "Smoooooove"
Hate the game, not the player.

Theoretically, Sheed could keep up
Realistically, he'd be too busy whining to a ref for us to ever find out.

He's just plain Smooth
I thought about Big Smooth, but Perkins
claimed the nickname long ago. I think Smooth
is perfect especially with that feathery jumper.
We know he's long, but not really BIG yet. GO
will help put LaMarcus over the top.

It's GO time !

Alright, we should
start chanting "smooooooooooth" every time he touches the ball, kind of a nod to the old "sheeeeed" chant, but more respectful and complimentary.
Hate the game, not the player.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
