I've been a huge NBA fan since I was 12 (1980, growing up in NC where college B-ball rules), and typically pretty objective. Far from a fair weather fan, I admittedly haven't had A single team over the past 25+ years.
Point is, not being a life long Blazers fan I'm pretty capable of judging teams and the league objectively. When the Celts got Garnett, I was excited for the league and excited about watching that team, though somewhat resentful of Boston fans whom I generally don't like.
After watching tonight's game (only the second time i've seen Boston play this year), I've reversed field completely. There is very little I like about the Celtics. I've always loved KG, but his passion + age + no rings has turned him into petulant [Edit: Expletive Deleted]. Allen actually surpasses KG in this department. This dude has NO fun- he's a jaded suckbag. PLUS... The fans SUCK. Doc is a terrible coach. I've always liked Pierce too, but his levels of pissy-ness are at an all-time high.
The big three Pantie Wads.
Here's the thing- We all knew that the C's mortgaged their future to win now- and why not? But their present isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Outside of the Win/Loss column, the Celtics 'now' is kind of lame. The players don't have any fun, they're not very fun to watch, and they are going to get their asses handed to them once they get deep in the playoffs.
Of course we all know that the Blazers are built for the future, but TODAY- I am so glad I'm a Blazers fan. Our entire situation is so much better than theirs- the present and the future.
Can't wait to see our Blazers get another shot at them in the Rose Garden.
