Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

If you could ask KP one question in person

What would it be?

I brought this up because a fan happened to meet KP in the Airport and blogged about what he was thinking the entire time.

http://ripcityproject.blogspot.com/2008/01/kp-in-air.html

Pretty damn funny and definitely reinforces how likable the entire franchise has become from the ground up.

Good looking blog too.

I already asked it
And he said "Yes".

Our date is April of next year, either in Portland or back Mid-west where he's from.  I'll post our website once I got it built.

That's easy
I'd say, "Hey KP, with the Cavaliers giving coach Mike Brown a two year extension, what do you think the chances are that Lebron leaves as soon as he can and comes to the Blazers?"

Does Paul Allen need a house sitter when he's at
Portland games.

or

Can he ask if I can come over to Allen's house to watch the games, since they are not broadcast here in Seattle.

If Allen wasn't so cheap
He'd build a fake moon to orbit the Northwest and a huge projector to show the Blazer games on a 24 hour loop.

I only hope he doesn't pinch his pennies with re-signing Oden/LMA/Roy like he is with this reasonable fake moon projection Blazer channel idea.  Right now there is zero difference between PA and Clipper's owner Donald Sterling, aside from Sterlings blatantly racist business practices in the Los Angeles real estate scene.

They show surprisingly few Blazer games down here in LA also, so perhaps the fake moon should be big enough for the whole west coast.

The lack of Blazer games shown up here
has nothing to do with Paul Allen being cheap.  It has to do with protected markets.  He would have to get the Sonic's permission to broadcast games up here and that's unlikely.

What would be nice is if he could swing a deal with some sports bar in, say Mercer Island, where they get his private satellite feed.

I was just playing
I know he can't show Blazer games on Sonic country, I was just being facetious with the moon idea and whatnot.  If Allen was cheap, he's very bad at doing so.

I like that Mercer Island idea though.

Me, I just get League Pass.  More than worth it for just the Blazers alone, and I watch a lot of other teams when I have the time as well.  For the price of driving to Mercer Island and getting a soda pop at the bar for 78 games (-4 for the Seattle games which would be on TV), you'd have paid more than what League Pass costs.

That's how I sold it to myself when I first got League Pass.  Less than 2 bucks a game is cheaper than going to a sports bar with League Pass, unless your will power is better than mine.  I can't go to a place that sells food or drinks and sit for a few hours and not get a food or a drink, but I am weak and pathetic.

The Moon idea would work, but you wouldn't be able to hear the game.  And, everyone would have to pay a tax of $190 YEARLY to pay for the construction and upkeep of the moon, STILL more than what League Pass costs!

I've considered League Pass
But for me it would likely be expensive.  Currently we get basic cable for free.  A deal that is apparently grandfathered in our Homeowners Association dues.  Were I to sign up for anything above the basic package, I'd have to set up my own account - meaning I'd be paying the $36 / month plus the cost of League Pass.

Hair
What exactly do you have to do to get Pat Riley hair?

Yes
I would ask KP if I could be hired to be Tom Penn's assistant.
I'm hip, I'm slick, and all the women want my phone number!

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
