So I'm frustrated to see the Blazers lose today on some silly mistakes, but at the same, was frustrated not to see Joel on the floor.
However, the group on the floor has led the team to an 17-2 record. IF we have learned anything about Nate, he's consistent. This guy finds something that works, and uses it over and over again... it's not hard to figure out. At the same time, he's inflexible with his instincts. Sometimes this has helped the Blazers, other times it has hurt them. It has been helpful as it has led to Travis Outlaw's emergence, but harmful as today's game at Toronto could have arguably been won with Joel on the floor.
Therefore, the reason Joel's on the bench is that this is where he has been during this incredible run. However, someone needs to point out to McMillan his downfall.
Any team watching the game today will figure out one thing about Portland: our interior defense is horrible... look to see other teams the rest of this trip go inside against our weak interior.
Joel must be back on the floor to solve this issue.
