Darius down to 225

From Mike Barrett's blog:

Speaking of Darius, he continues to workout at a frantic pace, and was going through drills with trainer Jay Jensen on the other court during the games Wednesday. He hasn't been cleared to play, but is running now with the team during conditioning drills. Miles, who topped out at 259 pounds following his micro-fracture knee surgery, is now down to a slim 225.(emphasis added) He has high hopes for a return, but still has a long road ahead of him. There are varying degrees of micro-fracture surgery, and Darius' was on the very serious end. Say what you want, you cannot fault his effort in attempting to get back into shape. I've seen it every day.

This has me thinking. A 225 lb. Miles is much more effective than the "Buffet of Badness" he was before. If Oden is truly down for the count, maybe Miles could come in as a 3rd or 4th option on offense.

I'm not a Miles fan in the least, but just trying to make lemonade out of lemons....

Four out of four experts agree:  The relationship is too far gone - some things can't be healed with flowers, a box of chocolates, and a half-hearted "I'm sorry".  Sometimes, a girl just has to call it a day and head to realgm.com...

like to disagree
Although, I disagree I like your style!  Maybe some day you'll quote me: For every mistake there is a path of redemption... or what's the living for?

Turning it around
I'd love for Darius to turn it around, mostly for his own dignity and the sense of self respect he'd have in the 30+ years of his post-NBA life.  Unfortunately for Darius, it will take a couple years of hardcore, proactive good behavior for him to clear the high bar that Pritch has set.  The wounds are too recent and too deep.  Not travelling with the team last year, management being mortally afraid he would somehow contribute to Zach getting arrested or worse, becoming 15% overweight during a knee rehab, not giving a sincere interview, etc.

And that's just the non-basketball stuff.  As a three who can't really shoot, it's hard to pencil him into a lineup that already short a shooter.

Darius' path to redemption will likely involve a moving van, a 10th man slot on a bad team, and a lot of soul-searching.  Let's hope the man is up to it.

how many times has kobe lost in portland?
For the past years, my father and I have NEVER been on TV, not even close. We have such bad luck at games, we never win any of the cheap prizes (not even a chance, never come close) but our luck in the past 2 games have dramatically changed. Last time we got the game ball, this time we very creepily are in the back on national television. I'm just letting the 15 minutes of fame soak in. What will be next?

I also apologize to Martell Webster for stealing his spotlight tonight

ps... today is my birthday if you want to give me a nice birthday gift then rec this for fun. Going to the Lakers game tomorrow as well, great birthday present from my father (2 amazing blazer games in 3 days)!
