game one: actual stats

I recorded the blazers first summer league game and noticed that Jason Quick was quite right when he said that the stat crew was amatuer at best.  I mean, Freeland with no blocks?? How could you miss Leon Powe's attempted dunk that got shoved right back down his throat by Freeland.  Anyway, I took my own stats for Sergio, Webster, Oden, and Aldridge.

Greg Oden
6pts 2rbs 3-5fg 2blks.
Nba.com had his stats about perfect, not very impressive but at least there is room for improvement.

Sergio Rodriguez
nba.com: 4pts 2-5fg 3assts 3 rbs 4TO
my count:4pts 2-5fg 6assts 3 rbs 3TO (Plus at least 3 nice passes that resulted in Webster or Aldridge at the freethrow line, they just couldnt get the and 1 to give serg a assist. Also, he had at least 3 passes that should have been turnovers, maybe even more like 4 or 5 bad passes that he lucked out on)

Lamarcus Aldridge
nba.com:  26pts 10-17fg 11rbs 0assts 3blks
my count: 26pts 10-14fg 10rbs 2assts 4blks
Aldridge had a really nice game with very few mistakes, he really did look like a man amongst boys. also worth noting that he had a few very nices passes inside to Oden that Oden just couldnt put a fork in. I think LMA can average 4-5 assts next year.

Martell Webster
nba.com:  18pts 5-12fg 8rbs 1asst 0stl 0blk 1TO
my count: 21pts 7-13fg 6rbs 1asst 1stl 1blk 0TO
Webster really didnt have that bad of a game offensively, his shot selection was poor but managed to stay above 50% and contribute in other ways. Needs to improve perimiter defense.

I think Martell got a unfair shake in that game. He struggled the first 3 quarters but not as bad as everyone says, he stayed aggressive and the game came to him in the 4th quarter. Thats what I want to see out of Martell, I thought it was a decent showing. Oh ya, Lamarcus is a stud if anyone didnt notice
