X's & O's continuing education

As a true fan, I'm always on the lookout to understand more of the game. Since I've never competed in the sport, other than pick-up games now and then, I was never taught anything about proper offense or defense fundamentals. What I've learned has been gleaned from watching limitless hours of games and listening to the inane commentary.

Since joining this site many moons ago, I've decided to slowly add a few tidbits of knowledge to my arsenal on a regular basis. For example, now I know what the pick and roll is supposed to do, how it's set up, and what options the dribbler has. Now I can see the play develop and truly understand what's going on. I can also identify where a play broke down, and why.

I thought I'd share a site that has been useful to me in developing a greater understanding and appreciation for good team ball.

This, along with a few youtube videos that break down the plays have been extremely helpful.

I know the fans on this site are highly inteligent about basketball, but I'm curious what kinds of basketball backgrounds we all share. Is it organized high-school, college, rec league, balling in the street, or simply the vicarious pleasure of flying? Are there any other websites you use to add to your knowledge pool?
