While watching one of the Blazers summer league games (may have been the first one against Boston), I heard one of the broadcasters mentioned Brandon Roy and then commented "what a complete guard he is." I think that is the perfect way to describe him. There is nothing you would like a quality guard to do that Roy does not do. He penetrates, he passes, he shoots from deep, he defends, he makes free throws, he rebounds, he shows leadership. He isn't the best in the league at any of those, but he's very good at all of them.
We've heard all the accolades for Brandon, but for some reason I don't think I'd heard that description of him- "the complete guard" and it just struck me as the perfect way to summarize what is so great about him.
