Interesting article on James Jones

Nice breakdown of Jones' shooting ability by Columbian beat writer Brian Hendrickson: http://www.columbian.com/sports/blazerBanter/

I knew his defense was pretty good and he had that nice run in the playoffs but maybe we Pritch-slapped somebody again?  Is it possible we traded 1 very good player and 2 fringe players for 3 good rotation guys (top 9)?  If this guy pans out, you are talking about some serious depth being added in Jones, Fernandez, and Frye in what was widely panned as a bad trade for the Blazers.

Jones is ok
He can shoot it and play some D as well.  He's a good fit for the vacated starting 3 spot if (as expected) Ime moves on.

He's nothing special though.  I'd still love for Martell to finally "get it" and earn the job, but I don't think that's going to happen.  Outlaw is also a candidate to start at the 3, but I'd give the edge to Jones at the moment.

Good enough?
to take the starting job?  Does that mean you think he's better than either Web or Trout as of right now?  If so, that's a pretty nice pickup.

The best case is either one of the younguns explodes and takes the job back but Jones would still be a good backup in that scenario too, wouldn't he?

I'm a buffet of goodness.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
