Rumor

To put your collective minds at ease, I've checked around a little (which may not mean much...but usually I can smell things pretty well) and as far as I can ascertain no deal is immanent. It would be very strange timing for a deal anyway, and even stranger timing on the announcement, right in the middle of the finals.

Sleep easy. I've got the night watch.

After reading all of the realgm thread,

and listening to Quick's interview as well as Courtside, I think that though a deal is not imminent, there is at least one being negotiated. It can still fall apart, and the league has to approve the final version. It would not involve any free agents (would violate NBA rules). Nothing will be announced until draft day. It is not strange timing for a deal though, because some teams are still smarting from playoff losses - it's the old standby "strike while the iron's hot", so to speak...

So like Dave says, no need to overreact.

Dave, I know you have the night watch but still...

Also don't color all over the walls while I'm gone. I'll be plenty peeved when I get back in the morning.

Trade rumors

I expect an announcement in the next couple days. No special information, but I was talking to a friend and she pointed out this is the time the Blazers need to start making deals for an extra 1st round pick so they can start bringing in 1st round picks for workouts. With the #1 pick (which will be Oden), no other 1st round prospect is really coming except Javaris Crittenden.
