a passionate essay...
It's interesting that Durant is awe-inspiring enough to prompt someone to create a DraftDurant website, and write a 11-page essay with references.
I haven't heard Oden creating this type of response. Any thoughts on why? I suspect it's some combination of Durant's passion and skills.

The arguments i've seen for durant
you need a balance TEAM and inside outside play. You need a leader and a person who'll take the clutch shot with 100% confidence. YOu need a competitive spirit and hunger to win.
The logic being used on oden is the same logic used on sam bowie.
Now, i don't say that oden is comparable to sam, but the argument is the same.
He's extremely dominate and he'll dominate his position. So will durant. Who will dominate it more? Who will make the team more better? (that was fun saying) Who has the largest drive? Who will be the best team player? Who will learn the quickest?
Learn the quickest, that's a really exciting thing because they BOTH do. Durants college coach showed him mj and kobe videos and durant picked up all the moves and mixes it up. He did it almost instantly.
However, Oden started practicing dribbling with two hands and is amazingly good! he adapted to a broken wrist and has the potential to be HUGE as a big man.
I'm amazed that some in the Oden camp have compared durant to kobe and miles. Claims that he'll have baggage or be a major slacker. Claims that have no basis in reality or at least facts to back it up.
I say MJ and the facts I use to back that up is the fact that he tries to hard. MJ had a HUGE work ethic and a HUGE desire to win. Durant has that too.
The guy is so good that people label him as "something we've never seen before".
ALSO... we have a good center in Aldridge. He HELD HIS OWN AGAINST DUNCAN!!! Think about that.
On the other side, Aldridge and Oden on defense will be simply amazing. Oden is a beast now and will be a bigger beast later.
Either way it's exciting. Either way we can't lose.
The answer to your question is...
I kinda feel bad for all the Durant dreamers that are going to get there false (Pritchard generated) hopes crushed on Thursday.
If a man writes 11 pages about another man it better be his dad, for college credit or for his job.

ah
You really can't lose, but it's fun to take sides. I like switching back and forth but I take up the Durant side (again) because I really DO think he'll be incredible and because everyone else is rooting for oden. Gotta keep things interesting!!!
A bit much

Couldn't quite get through it all
This website is hilarious
The writer seems like as funny guy. I haven't read the 11 page manifesto yet, but I bet I'll agree with most of the serious points because I love The Assassin so much.
I really like how he paints every Oden supporter as an evil commie out to destroy America. It funny be.
It's a popular site, I don't think the time he's put into it is overboard at all. He's striking while the iron is as HOT AS DURANT. I dunno what will happen after the draft, but if we don't take The Assassin at least one guy out in the inter-web will be sad.
And everyone, please stop taking the arguments so personally. In every Oden/Durant post some people are acting real sensitive and claiming the other's arguments are insane just because you don't agree. Attaching your ego and sense of self worth to these players isn't healthy! Just be happy we get EITHER of these phoos!
Just saw Durant with Arenas in a NBA live commercial. He did a good job! He looks hilarious with his stork legs and HUGE feet. Where is Oden's commercial?!?!?!?!
