Play GM & get us Seattle's pick!
I am torn between picking Oden & Durant (like alot of us are). I know people have posted some crazy trade proposals for us to get another first round pick, but can anyone come up with a trade senario where we could realisticly get Seattle's first round pick? Is it even possible? Is there a deal that Seattle would jump at, and where their fans would be happy as well?
I am guessing it would have to be a multi-team deal to work, and I know that Blazer fans would not even consider giving up LaMarcus, & Brandon!
Who knows maybe someone can propose a trade that can grow legs, and get us the top 2 picks in this years draft. Who is the next KP in waiting?

Not possible without giving-up LMA or Roy.
We get: #2, Ridnour, Kwame's expiring contract.
Sonics get: Kobe, Aldridge, Sergio or Jack.
Lakers get: Ray Allen and Zbo.

Nuh-uh!
And really: Not possible without giving up Aldridge AND Roy. And unbelievably unlikely, if not impossible, even then.
Unless Durant spits in Presti's eye in the next week, that pick will not go ANYWHERE.
Give them our first round picks
If that doesn't work, send Tony Barone after 'em.
Heyzues Kristos I want both players. Would make everything so much easier!
I don't know how much of a gambler Presti (the Sonics new GM) is, or what he wants in a team, or anything of the sort. I know their Owner isn't a smart man. I believe Pritchard could pull one over on them if the situation was right. I can't imagine how we'd get the #2 pick, but I'm sure Pritchard has his top guys on the job.
If it's possible, which I doubt it is but a boy can dream, then it'll happen. Either way we are the team of destiny!!

The wheels are turning...
Yeah...think of it...
well...
<note: you can only trade up to 5 years out, and league rules require that you can't have two consecutive seasons without picks, though they do not have to be your original picks>
Option A
Seattle gets: Jack, Randolph, Webster; the Blazers 2008, 2010, and 2012 first round picks; the right to swap picks in 2009 and 2011; $3 million; any number of 2nd rounders they want.
Portland gets: #2 overall pick; Seattle does a sign and trade with players like Danny Fortsons, who get huge pay raises to make the salaries match, but just get put on the injured reserve.
Option B
Memphis (needs PG, SG, PF) gets: Jarret Jack, Zach Randolph, Martell Webster, however many 2nd rounders in any year they want.
Memphis gives up: Damon Stoudamire, Stromile Swift, Brian Cardinal, #4 overall, 2009 first rounder
Seattle gets: #4 overall pick; Portland's 2008, 2010, 2012 picks; Memphis' 2009 pick; right to swap picks with Portland in 2009 and 2011; $3m
Seattle gives up: #2 overall pick
Portland gets: #2 overall pick, Damon Stoudamire (I know, I know), Stromile Swift, Brian Cardinal.
Portland gives up: Zach, Jack, Martell; 2008, 2010, 2012 picks; Seattle rights to swap picks with Portland in 2009 and 2011; $3m
Again, these are just rough ideas and I didn't run them through the trade machine. If anything, though, Seattle might be getting way too much. I was just trying to think of how to throw as much at Seattle as possible.
I think the last one is a pretty good deal for Memphis. Not only do they turn they're #4 pick into 3 players in positions of need (one great, one solid, one promising), but they dump all their bad contracts. The dumping of bad contracts is my rationale for them giving up an extra future first.
thats good if the #'s work

thinking more about it
Memphis just needs to get a little bit more, I think. Maybe they don't give up a 2nd pick at all. Seattle is getting a lot in this deal already.
what is he worth?
you have to look at what they bring each team.
oden alongside lamarcus and roy.
they would play the 2 4 5
youd have a great defensive front line. a great rebounding team and a guard thaty can do evertyhing kinda liek a young scottie pippen. also, crunch time, roys the man, we all know that. that team can possibly win a title if everyone stays healthy.
with durant we start lamarcus, zach, durant, roy, and one of the points.
this gives us the ability to score, a lot. we can score in the half court, and we can score on the run. we easily clear a hundred every game.
but defensivley we have an ok center that can guard everyone in the league except for oden, dwight howard, duncan, and amare.
on the peremeter, we have good d. durant is long liek prince, roy is a lock, and the point is ok...even if it sblake.
zach is a siv...but he rebounds liek a beast, so well call it a wash becasue he can get 20/10 without giving him the ball if hes in shape.
so, the question is, what do you want? high scoring sellouts that are fun to watch? or do you want defensive boring basketball that wins ala san antonio spurs?
i would take the later, though there's more money in the first.
ok, and to get both, we have to give up roy, or aldridge, one of our points, martell, and probably three future #1's. i would give them:
aldridge, jj, martell, and three of the next five 1st rounders for us. i say it like this becasue we pick the three years, allowing us to give the picks is "weaker" years. we also would have to take theirr worst contract...whoever that is, it doesn't matter.
we end up with oden, zach, durant, roy, sergio/blake
and our bench is ok.
i think just taking oden makes us better than what we would have to give up to get both... just my opinion
