Colin Cowherd is calling out Durant

Pretty funny YouTube clip of images put to a Colin Cowherd rant.  Cowherd is disparaging Durant's lack of strength shown at the Combine, going off on the kid for a several minutes.  The barrage of images gave me a chuckle.  Of course Cowherd has several hours of airtime to fill every day, so he has to rant about something.

I can't stand that guy. The images were funny though.

Cowherd is an idiot

When he went from the local Portland market (KGW, KFXX) to ESPN, he merely found himself a bigger village.

He's originally from Portland?
I had no idea.  The only reason I've heard of him is because of his stealing material from bloggers and his very uncool DOS attack on a completely random sports website.

Not originally...

he, like many media guys, has bounced around the country doing various things--including sports reporter, play-by-play, and talk-show gigs.

But Portland was his last stop before he got his big break and was hired by ESPN.  And he was a moron on KGW...

My biggest fear is that one of these days, ESPN or someone will hire Ed Whalen, and deprive PDX of one of the best local sports guys anywhere.  Nah, won't happen--Whalen's too outspoken, and the suits at the networks won't touch him.

Cowherd's lame
I haven't listened to him in a long time but he thinks he's the Howard Stern of sports radio or something.  He has some decent opinions but he slobbers all over them with his arrogance and that makes it hard to listen to - I was always afraid his head would get so large it would burst and destroy the entire city.  He's right about Durant though, not being able to bench 185 lbs. once is really scary considering this guy is going to be playing against some monsters next year in the NBA.

PS. Encouraging your fans to crash websites that criticize you is stupidity of the highest order.

I like Cowherd
I can't speak tenure at ESPN but with KGW he was great. Of course the rest of the Portland sports tv coverage is so bad.

And apologies to EngineerScotty but I cannot stand Ed Whalen. Like nails on a chalkboard.

cowherd is the man
that's #1 and #2 the pistons are willing to trade either or both rip*prince to get younger and also the pistons do have orlando's pick #15..sheed will be back webber will retire and the main reason why they're willing to trade either or both prince and rip is to resign c.billups to a max contract.so keep calling c.cowherd the only guy on national radio to give you portland people any creditability and that's a fact.everyone else has totally dismissed you guys and seattle after the lottery and has been focusing on who the lakers can get to help kobe.and wishing upon a star that lebron can save the east coast.so you guys should be thanking cowherd the only guy to put b.roy on his radio show way before he won rookie of the year.he nicknamed him the "natural"not b.wheeler. and was the only person on this planet other than myself to say on national radio 2 weeks before the lottery that portland will win the lottery.so next time you guys strat whinning why portland is getting no respect and everyone is still talking lakers, remember c.cowherd who always says something nice about your community and your team.

Trading Prince to get younger?

I'll give them Webster, you can't get younger than that.  (OK, you can, but they can't have Oden).

Prince has been in the league only five seasons--it ain't like he's getting old.  And Rip's finished his eighth season.

Nah, the only old farts of consequence on the Pistons these days are Sheed and McDyess (12 seasons each) and Billups (10 seasons).  (The "of consequence" clause excludes guys like Webber and Davis, who probably won't be back anyway).

Funny!
Of course the numbers don't mean a whole lot.  Look at aldridge then and now.

Still, i WAS surprised.

Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
