I was beat up a little for my last trade idea... the impression I got was that folks aren't really interested in Conley. So here's one without him.
2007 #12 Pick (from Philadelphia)
2007 #37 Pick
2007 #34 Pick
2007 #34 Pick (from Dallas)
2007 #37 Pick (from Portland)
2007 #12 Pick
Here's the rationale:
Philly does this because neither they or their fans are ready to throw in the towel and start rebuilding. That said, at 31, Miller might have three good years left. At his salary, he has value only to a current contender. Jack and Randolph give them the PF and scoring options that they covet.
Dallas does this because they realize that they made a terrible mistake in letting Nash go. They know that they will not win a title without a traditional "pass first" floor general.
We do this because it allows us to remove a very talented cancer from a young impressionable team. Also, in Terry, this trade gives us a proven combo guard with that can run, score and distribute. Korver is a pure-shooting small forward (that could start or be great off the bench). By the way, Terry and Korver have both shot above 40% from behind the arc over the last three years (both in the top 10 this year). And with the #12 pick we will land a promising small forward (IE- Julian Wright, Jeff Green, Al Thornton, Thaddeus Young).
(Trading away a 2nd rounder is no big deal. We will end up wasting or giving away all of our 2nd rounders away anyway, as they will never make this team.)
Blast away, I can take it ;-)
