But Seriously
Besides, we already have 1 rapist and I doubt KP wants another.

but
Besides, we need a good selfish baby to hog the ball from everyone and whine and cry and disrupt our chemistry!
Ya Know...

That's kind of harsh,
yeah but...
He's the enemy.
He's selfish.
He's a suspected criminal.
He's a baby that's trying to dictate how his team is run.
Hate the player, hate the post,
Oh and again, I can't stress this enough:
HATE THE PLAYER
HATE THE PLAYER
HATE THE PLAYER
HATE THE PLAYER
HATE THE PLAYER
HATE THE PLAYER!!!!!!!
I'm sorry did I knock your diary off the main page
I remember when BlazersEdge folks were an easy going bunch of Blazers fans discussing the team and the NBA....
Sure this trade concept is a little preposterous. Still, it's pretty big news that Kobe might be asking for a trade...and if he DOES is it really so crazy that Blazers might be involved in a multi-team deal? We happen to have a big contract guy with skills that will be appealing to many teams.
So, yeah, I read that Kobe might force a trade and thought it would a humorous concept to stick him on our roster...it IS highly unlikely it would shake down like that...but what if we use a Kobe sweepstakes to get rid of Randolph and pick up the small forward we've been looking for....might actually be easier with the Lakers eager to get back some young dudes and the team landing Kobe doing whatever it takes to sell a million new jerseys and get some serious national attention...
ah
the la*ers are a curse word and kobe is satan.
On paper that would look good for both teams, but ironically i think it'd be bad for both teams.
KP could probably eliminate all good will he's built with blazer fans with that one move.
i retract
La*ers would get the short end of the stick.
For some reason i thought roy or aldridge were included with zach. It had been a while since i'd read the post.
Hey now
Perhaps KP himself will read this, smack himself in the head, and say, "I never thought of that!" Then Mitch Kupchak will say, "Since I'm on the way out the door anyway let's make a trade that NOBODY will forget! Like that Shaq one...Part 2!" Papers will be signed, teeth will be gnashed in LA, and our starting backcourt of Brandon Roy and Kobe Bryant with Lamarcus Aldridge and Greg Oden in the frontcourt will blow away everything else on the map. Plus Kobe will join the sisters at Mount Angel for weekly retreats and reform his past bad behavior, becoming a stellar member of the community. We'll get more rings than Quasimodo on speed and Portland will become the new center of the NBA universe...ALL BECAUSE this diary was posted. Then won't you feel silly?
Huzzah for improbable trade ideas!

Kobe at Point Guard!
Then, after we win the championship, he'll demand we trade away all 12 other guys and go back to shooting. But that one season will be bliss!
And hey, we all hate K*be, but becoming a Blazer cures a lot of past transgressions. Just leaving the L*kers in some cases helps how I percieve a guy. I always couldn't stand Shaq cause he is so low-skill, but ever since he was on Miami he's kinda won me over.
I always saw Kobe as the real talent of that duo, but obviously he hasn't done as well on his own. His co-stars kinda suck and that doesn't help, but it is his own fault. With our co-stars, he'd be a winner again.
Some guys will always be L*kers though, and thus always hated. Rick Fox, Horry, Rick Fox... man I hate Rick Fox.
Kobe in Portland sounds like a match made in heaven! I'm sure Kobe is licking his chops to be second fiddle to whomever we draft, and be the 5th or 8th most beloved player on the team. I only worry we can't do this trade FAST enough!
Raef and Z-Bobo for Kobe, straight up. Plus, one of the 2nd round picks with a top 55 protection. It's the only way to bring Eric Marentette(sp?) back into the fold...

hmmm
No way would LA trade. Secondly, i wouldn't want a spoiled brat on our team anyway.
Could you conceive

yeah
No way in heck I'd fricken do it though. Players should NEVER run teams.
Actually...

As it should
Here's the link to the headline up at ESPN.com:
I say, send the little punk to New York.
Blazers too classy for Kobe?
Can we please recall that whenever the Lakers play Portland, and Kobe gets the ball in his hands, the crowd seems to make it unanimous how disliked he is in Portland? Far as I can see, Blazer fans consider the 'The Enemy'.
I think we're working towards something more special than simply being compared to the Kobe/Shaq era.
How 'bout the Roy/Oden/Big Smoothie era?
I personally like the concept of a Blazer Dynasty.
Just my opinion.
Seems to me
I wouldn't trade anyone on the Blazer roster for Kobe. He would ruin the team chemistry. He doesn't fit the "team first" clause of the culture.
Dunno if that would help
They just need to trade Odom and/or Bynum for immediate help. After those two, no one has real top value... Walton might get something, but the best you could hope for with trading him is someone exactly like him.
I'd do Z-Bo for Odom, now that we'll be getting whoever at #1. Odom can play both SF and PF, opening PF for Aldridge. He can do a bit of everything, and as the 4th option offensively on the team his inconsistency won't be a problem. He's a good rebounder and passer, and when he scores it'll be a plus.
But I haven't crunched numbers on any of this. If I was Kobe, and I was on a poorly managed team, I'd never give myself a pay cut that does nobody no good. He knows the Lakers kinda bring in a lot of money in merchandise and ticket sales... if they play the 'oh poor us we can't afford this baskie-ball of today' card, they will be sniggled at.
