Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Call your shot part 2.

If we get incredibly lucky, what do we do?  Dust off your crystal ball and tells us what happens if we get pick 1-3.

Here's mine:
1st - We trade down to 2nd, get Durant, and pick up another top 10 pick or a young player.

2nd - We stand pat and take Durant (Oden in the unlikely event).

3rd - We trade down and get 2 picks in the 7-15 range or one and a young player.

Obviously not scientific or necessarily based in reality but it's a hunch.  Again, notoriety and the title of draft genius or some such to be bestowed upon the winner.

I'm absolutely dying to find out where we pick, does anybody know for sure exactly what time the lottery will be?  I'm stuck at work so I'll have to listen online and be discreet.  Go Blazers!

Blazer lottery party
ESPN will televise the lottery process starting at 4:30 pm tomorrow.

The Blazers are hosting a lottery party at 2808 NE MLK Blvd. (don't know the name of the actual location). They will have games/prizes. See ya there.

the name is given as "VENUE" -don't know if that is real or just a place-holder.

This is really about who goes 1
1 - Oden
2 - Durant
3 - trade down and take Brewer and another late lottery pick

Well,
when I tried the lottery machine yesterday it gave us #1 twice in about five tries(and we chose Oden.)  That's more #1s than I've seen.  Maybe it's loosening up and practicing for tomorrow :-)

Here we go
J-Unit predictions, grab a cup of coffee/drink and relax your in for a ride..

Milwaukee lands the #1 spot..

Portland lands #2...

Milwaukee decides they want Oden and will move Bogut.. because they have:

C- Oden
PF- Charlie V
SF- Bobby Simmons
SG- Redd
PG- TBD ( mo williams is a FA )

Portland swaps a deal, sending them the 2 2nd rounders, and Martell Webster, and a 08 first to Milwaukee for Andrew Bogut.

Giving us..

C- Bogut
PF- Zbo
SF- Durant
SG- Roy
PG- Jack

Now, I know your thinking, that's alot to give up for Bogut.. but he's a solid young center and I think he's got a solid future. He also fits with Portland's lineup, he's a good passer and can play good d.

The 08 first rounder sucks cause we'll need it.. but that's where Zbo comes in...

That lineup can make the playoffs.. Zbo can dominate the playoffs and have another big year raising his value, and after the 07-08 year KP can trade Zbo for help, and even acquire a first pick if he wants.

That's my prediction.. it's gonna be a wild ride..

I like the idea
Im also in favor of buying low on Bogut, I think his basketball IQ could help a team like the Blazers. Brandon and Bogut as two great passers.....one from the drive the other from the post.

ya
His basketball IQ will be good for the team, and he's not going to be expected to dominate. Just needs to play well.. with Zbo, Roy, LMA, and if we had Durant, Bogut is not a high thought scoring option, BUT he'll be capable of scoring. He's also entering his 3rd year, who knows how good he can really become.

i know 2 things for sure
1)-if we finish 1 or 2 we'll definately get rid
of that drek we have on our bench to be able to
pay aldridge, roy, and either oden or durant.

2)if we don't finish in the top 5 in the draft
pritchard will definately package the pick and
either zbo or 2 bench cruds for a legit star 3
like maybe s.marion maybe...

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
