Off season priorities

Barring the draft, but including everything else, what are the most important moves the Blazers should make in the summer?

I think the filler question is favorite dessert.  It so happens I have two.  One is this cake my mom used to make called Crazy Cake.  And the other is Blackberry Cobbler.  I slobber when I think about them.

don't spend
to much $$ on outlaw/magloire whoever.. if you resign them, make sure its a good deal... and work with webster jack and sergio and make sure others get some good summer workouts in as well.
ROY for R.O.Y.

Sort out Arena Management
and figure out how to get more seats in the seats.

Try to get those fans formerly intrested in the Blazers back again. Just try to talk about this team to your friends who don't watch/ listen to the games - all the same tired cliches emerge. We are a bit isolated here on Dave's wonderful site - but the average "possible" Portland fan is far from "fantastic" about this team.

I would LOVE to see "Roy - 7" jerseys on backs all over Portland.

If that isolation exists
there's a sure cure for it:

Tell more people about the site.

Here's a couple
  • Deal Zach or Darius
  • Re-sign Ime Udoka and Travis Outlaw
  • Wheel and deal those 2nd round picks.
  • Draft BPA, no matter what.

Bonneville Power Administration?
I didn't realize he had declared.

(Actually, I could see a hoops player named "Bonneville", and it turns out
his middle names are "Power Administration". If so, yes: draft him.)

Tell 'em Large Marge sent ya.

Well, he could certainly
dam up the middle on defense.

But Bonneville will have a hard time getting up the court on the fastbreak.

but
he's fantastic in the paint.  No more matador defense, no more dribble penetration by the opposition.

Yes but
if people are upset about Zach drag racing down Broadway how will they feel about our starting center singlehandedly killing the local salmon run?

Plus
his rates will take steep spikes every year.  Soon we'll be capped out.

Moves
1.) Trade Zach for a decent pf/sf (prefer sf)
2.) Make sure center talent is taken care of.
3.) After those two... strengthen the point guard position.
