February Jersey Scoreboard: Game 3 Results

This was an interesting game. Nate screwed y'all up by playing Travis 29 minutes! The scores were more modest here than they were the first two games but a couple people scored big and made up major points on the leaders. There's a very tight bunch right after 3rd place right now and that group includes Suns Dan, so some of you better get cracking!

The score right after your name is your total for the month. The score in parentheses is your score for this game. A "D" following both scores means you have used your Double Down for the month. An "X" means you've skipped a game (necessary by the end of the month if you are going to Double Down at any point). Note that anyone new has already skipped games and thus has a big "X" automatically. Don't forget to use your Double Down at some point if that's you!

Nice to be back in it

Thanks to the guys for sending it to overtime and helping me out with this game, since I needed a big one to make up round I'd already lost.

Whattya mean "get cracking"

I'm trying, I'm trying.

I've missed the bonus about 8 games in a row - maybe I'm too careful. But knowing our low scoring first (or second) quarters and knowing that the Suns have been shooting around 50% - how could I NOT choose Phoenix? (Without trying to figure out their first half shooting %)

And the Bulls game - the previous 5 games the Bulls had out blocked the Blazers. And in Denver - Magloire had not been first off the bench in the previous I-don't-know-how-many-games.

Guess the bonus is what separates the men from this play-it-safe female.

Yeah

I keep missing the bonus too. Last night I was at the game and the bonus question was much closer than the numbers indicate (great question). Phoenix's percentage was higher until their final possession - then it became equal - then they put up a couple more misses. 3 Missed shots on Phoenix's final possession of the half turned the scale on the bonus question, but it worked for me... I had something to be happy about no matter what way it went.

first time

well this was my first time, I really messed up on outlaw's mins and rookie rebounds. but I will be ready for the next game. it was fun

Robbed by Outlaw

I was looking good...score 96-96 (I had guessed 96-94 as the final score), Travis Outlaw (who had played 24 minutes at the time...exactly what I guessed) misses a layup, sends it to overtime, and kills both of my correct guesses. I end up with a big fat zero.

I didn't think i could ever get a score of ZERO. dang, i hang my head in shame. I guess thats what you get for trying to predict an upset.

The good news

on those zeroes is that the scores overall weren't very high, so if you're going to bomb a game this was a good one. Everybody but a few got submarined by Travis' 29 minutes played.

The very first month we used this format MajorTheo started out with a zero and ended up climbing back into contention within a couple weeks.

I had Trav

down for 12 minutes and I had Dixon down for 15 points. I'm not sure how I scored any points at all, thankfully I wasn't far off with the score.

Well

technically you only got a grand total of 6 points for your stats predictions (out of a possible 50). You did, however, have Phoenix winning and that gives you 30 right off the top. Thus a respectable score of 36 instead of a disastrous (for a leader) score of 6.
