Quick Rumor: Portland offered Dixon for Pietrus, GSW says no

http://blog.oregonlive.com/blazers/2007/02/the_french_are_coming.html http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=2173~1707&teams=22~9

One of the more plausible trade scenarios I've seen.

Golden State has a glut of SFs and needs to thin the rotation there, while Dixon has fallen out of favor and Portland could give Pietrus a tryout before he expires after this season.

Thumbs up.

Quick will be on The Fan at 6 PM to talk about it.

What would this mean for Travis Outlaw?

yeah, that would be a no brainer
i can't imagine the warriros having any use for dixon though.

Just to get this totally straight:
This is just the result of an online trade forum discussion, right?
Not a rumor of an actual trade proposal between the real-life Blazers and Worriers?

And if Baron Davis is in really bad decline, physically,
then yes, Drunken State may have some use for Winn Dixie.
Hard to say; I haven;t really fully assimilated just what they are,
post-Pacers trade and all--what their rotations and depth charts are like now.

eureka
dixon works perfectly,as a spot up shooter, off the bench for nellie's offense,do the damn trade now..

Yeah ...
Seems like they have a glut of acrobats but not too many jump shooters. Seems like it would fill a need for each team. If nothing else, Pietrus's contract is one year shorter ...

Yes
I'd go for it for sure, seems like a win win

Ooh
Juan Dixon did not dress tonight. Has he been traded and it was not finalized? Did he not play to avoid injury?

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
