Green heading to Idaho
Quick is reporting on the blazer beat that Taurean Green will be sent to the Idaho Stampede for an undetermined amount of time. His first game will be a matchup against Aaron Brooks. It should be interesting to see how he does down there, I would think he would get pretty significant minutes. There is also some other good stuff posted yesterday about Jack being unhappy with how he is being used.

ummm
2nd year is team option
I think Green will do well in the D League. He needs the playing time to prove to Nate he belongs on this team. Nate said Green would win a couple game for us this year, maybe this will give him his chance to prove himself

I'd definitely
JJ1
You are right that Green needs experience- that's why he needs to go to the D-league.
JJ1
JJ1 is better but I'm beginning to question his attitude. His role is point production off the bench at the 2 if he doesn't like it and complains when we are WINNING then there is a problem.
It's in Jack's hands I hope he can see his role is a combo guard off the bench who looks to drive, as I've said before, if he looks to fill his ROLE on the team he's a valuable piece. If not we should move him for his sake and ours.
Hold on Buddy!
Take a look at Jack, he was suppose to come in as great defender and fell to the 22nd pick because of his offense.
"What makes Jack stand out a bit in this excellent class of PG's in this draft is his defense (Draftexpress)."
But after being in the NBA I think we can agree that Defense isn't the best part of his game. Granted, some people just thinks he needs more experience to improve that part of his game.
And when did Green become a lock down defender? If I remember right he never was that good in college at defending, yes he is agile, but that doesn't make him a lock-down defender.
"The biggest drawback standing in the way of Green's chances of NBA success is his very related combination of average size and defensive ability. NBA coaches are biased against smaller guards and Green doesn't do them many favors with the awareness he shows on this end of the floor (Draftexprees)."
Furthermore, Green wasn't that good in Summer league, at all. But, the biggest thing people need to remember, is Green is still living off of the hype caused by one statement made by Nate. And this is the coach some people have harshly accused of making poor personally judgments during games. To put it bluntly, Green is around because of his poise, offense and shooting ability, not because of his defense and pure passing skills, basically, he is very similar type of player as Jack, but hasn't had the court time to make critics out of anyone.
Let's not forget
As to Green, I like him and will be real interested to see how he pans out.

It's amazing what can be conjured up
As Hightide points out, where does all this certainty about Taureen Green's play come from? We seen him what, 1 game for any meaningful amount of time?
As for Jack's attitude - how do you know he has a worse attitude? Are you the towel boy at the practice facility and see these guys every day? I read the Quick link and you either have to have led an extremely sheltered life or are good at making long stretches to come away with the opinion that Jarrett Jack has a bad attitude. Sounds to me that the guy is feeling a bit down because he doesn't think he's contributing in the way he wants to. He sees some of that as being out of his control. It takes some extrodinary twisting to make that into Jack has an attitude problem.
totally agree

blazers should by stampede, stampede should be tv
One reason is to include the stampede in the comcast station package, so when our young studs are lighting it up in the D-League we can tune in.
Another is that it works both ways. With Boise familiar with Blazers players sent down to D-Leauge, there may enough linger interest in them for comcasts blazers games to play on comcast in Boise.
The next best reason is the Blazers would define the style of play, work-out and practices so that it's seamless for a player to go down there and come back learning the Blazer system.
In my mind, Sergio could stand a stint down there to work on consistency. It doesn't do McRoberts any good to sit on the blazer bench either.
