Respect from Denver Fans

I stumbled into this poll on the Nuggets' main page today:

With a third of the season over, which Northwest team looks like the Nuggets stiffest competition?

Results (after 799 votes):

Portland 56%
Utah 31%
None 10%
Seattle 2%
Minnesota 1%

I can't link you straight to the poll, but here's a link to Denver's home page, the poll is towards the lower right hand corner of the page

Are Denver Fans Onto Something?
Yes, they should be afraid of us, very afraid.

They are confused, need to be very afraid of Utah, not us.

Denver fans have no serious competition in the division, "none" should be much higher.

Denver is fool's gold right now ...
Denver is not a team that scares me right now, and I do not consider them a credible threat in the future.

They simply do not play team basketball. Their two big stars dribble the ball too much and do not involve other teammates. I think they are the class of the division this year, but as the Blazers and Jazz continue to grow, they will soon be left behind.

Absolutely
down the road there is really no question in my mind that the Blazers will leave the Nuggets behind, as will the Jazz (and probably the Sonics).  Living in an instant gratification kind of world I can only assume the intent of the poll on Denver's website was about this season and not looking at a few years down the road, but suppose I could be wrong.

I agree
Denver wins games when poorly coached teams play into their jack-em-up style, giving the nugs lots of looks at the bucket. Our team is too disciplined to do that, Nate wouldn't let it happen. Their fans are proud of being the most "thugged out" team in the NBA, and we Portlanders know where that gets you. We will continue to blaze the nugs for years to come.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
