Blazer Nation Supporters in Section 321???

Hey all,

I need more info on the exuberant group of youngsters in section 321 (I believe) who are shouting their brains out at every home game, sometimes even drowning out the cheesy PA cheerleading.  They take up 2 or 3 rows in the very back of 321 and are well on their way to becoming the Blazer equivalent of the Timbers Army.  My question is, why can't the organization get these kids down front somewhere?  Or why aren't they sitting under the Blazer Maniacs banner?  There are no maniacs under that banner; they're all in 321!  The best part of it all is exiting the building with this group, particularly in the stairwell.  As they chant "Blazer Nation" or "We got 9 in a row", the joy is truly contagious.  Let's give this group some recognition!  And let's have them share their secret affiliation.  College friends?  A secret society of Blazer believers?  The Timbers Army finding off-season expression for their PDX sports devotion?  I've got to know.  By they way, they sit approximately below the "Coach's Corner" banner, but I highly doubt this is Nate's group of give-away tickets.  Either way, why aren't we hearing more about them?  Their cheers are audible throughout the arena and their number seems to be growing.

I'll attest to it
those guys have been the key to a few of the victories on this streak.

I totally mean that.  They are amazing.

They are amazing!
They look like a bunch of high school students, but the first thing I thought of was they sound like a much more limited( in song selection) Timbers Army... these kids rule, and it would be nice to have this become a contagious thing with the rest of the sections around them! Are any of them representing on Blazersedge I wonder?

I Resent That....
I sit in the Blazer Maniac section and cheer my A$$ off every home game. However, I cannot speak for my entire section. Most, if not all of the tickets in the section belong to season ticket holders (myself included). We were not made aware that we were even sitting in the Blazer Maniac section until we were sent our season tickets in the mail. My roomates and I were thrilled, yet, I feel your pain that we don't always carry our weight. I will say though that there is probably a good two dozen fans that are true Blazer Maniacs that do initiate a large number of cheers and dress appropriately. My roomate even has a custom jersey with "Maniac" on the back. I sport #25 and some snazy red power bands and I'm hoping to pull a #7 out of the stocking this year. You reading mom?

Section 225 is also home home to SuperFan, whom you all know after last nights' game. [He lost the race....Idiot!!!]

Ultimately, I blame the lack of fanaticism on the organization. Either there needs to be a smaller section in the lower bowl reserved for the uber fans that are sold on game days (for a reasonable price), much like in the Euro leagues, or pre-screenings conducted prior to releasing season tickets to the "Blazer Maniac" section.

I will be wearing red on Christmas. See you all there.

My apologies
Hi PTownJake,

I certainly didn't mean to offend.  And I should have clarified that I have seen some hardcore support coming from the BlazerManiac section, but it doesn't seem to all be concentrated in one group.  And I agree with you, that's on the organization.  We could really set ourselves apart with a hardcore fan section.  Of course, you can't really take seats away from season ticket holders.  But there are certainly things that could be done.

Anyway, thanks for the clarification.  I'm sure we'll see you on the big screen Friday night.  Let's make it 10 in a row!!!

My section is rarely quiet
and if it is it's a very bad thing (not much to cheer about).  It's usually so loud that you have to lean towards and yell to speak to the person next to you if you hope to actually communicate.  I'm down in the lower bowl.  It has also become clear that the section as a whole spends a lot of time on their feet.  I applaud the young fans in section 321 that you speak of, but honestly haven't heard a thing from them from where I sit in 107, probably because it's so loud where I am.  Over the last seven years (since I became a season ticket holder) I've sat in a lot of sections.  This is definitely the loudest year yet (though it used to be even louder... wait until we are making championship runs again, those were the games that hooked me in the first place.  The chants that my section seems to be going with are the norms, as well as a lot of M-V-P, M-V-P anytime Roy touches the ball, especially if he is shooting foul shots.

I know a few of these guys
I went to High School and worked with some of them and am still good friends with a few. They are mostly 23-26 year olds but some high schoolers join them during the games. Sitting (or actually standing) with them is a  lot of fun and they always welcome more voices.

the pregame show
mentioned these fans.  they showed the section but there was only 1 person in the whole area...granted it was well before tip off.  i guess they didnt want their sergio bobblehead tho.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
