8 straight!!!

I got to watch my first Blazer game in a very long time this morning.  I'm currently stationed in Islamabad, Pakistan and have been overseas for most of the last 12 years.  So you might guess that watching the Blazers is a very rare treat for me.  So I have a couple of comments for you guys based on what I saw.

First - Holy crap do we look young!!  I mean I knew that we're the youngest team in the NBA and all, but I guess it really didn't hit me until I saw them finally.  It was like watching a college game.

Secondly - The Rose Garden looked really tame on TV.  Maybe the camera was just panning the wrong sections, but it really seemed like everyone was just sitting there ho-hum about the whole affair.  Is this typical fan behavior?  Or am I just seeing things?  I've got tickets to next Friday's game and you can believe I'll be going nuts with beer-fueled Blazermania!

I've heard
the garden is loud and fun.

My trip there just after thanksgiving, I didn't really see that though.

Past years it's been pretty much the same.  It always annoyed me that I was the only cheering and standing.

Frankly... i think our fans need to be louder and more excited.   I don't want to be able to hear the announcers on the radio.

I was at the game
There wasn't too much to cheer about.  We were missing pretty much everything and being out-rebounded badly.  Towards the 3rd quarter and through the 4th the crowd got into some D - Fence chants.

Crowd or not, 8 straight is an amazing accomplishment.

Those 3's
Towards the end would've had me doing backflips even if we were down by 20.

Detroit and Miami
Loud, raucous crowds at both games.  Detroit felt like a college game with one section starting their own cheers.

The crowd will be up for Denver.  No love loss for Melo, Camby, and Iverson.

I was at the game
and I can't believe how no one pointed out that the score was 88 on our 8th win! It was crazy because it looked like Roy hit a three when we were at 86 at the end of the game. I guess they said his foot was on the line and it was 88! and the final horn sounded game over. I grabbed some of the streamers and got to shout YOU ROCK KP to the man himself. Some fans were chanting "KP for President!".

My wife bought me great tickets and she came with me. I was on the 100 level for the first time in my life (Diary coming tomorrow) and it blew me away. The guys looked phenomenal even though they couldn't buy a bucket at KFC in the first half. Outlaw had a dunk at one point that I literally couldn't believe I had seen. Well anyways it was an awesome game and I for one was on my feet repeatedly even if NO ONE around me was until late in the game. People like Offense plain and simple.

Thank you for standing in the 100 level
Some of the fans are ok there, but many just need to be shown what to do.  All it will take is a few dozen people to get the rest started.

Coolguyrob... welcome back & have a great time at the game!!!

Makes me wonder
How many people actually don't live in Oregon and have to get their fix at Blazers Edge.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
