Chalupas - Big in Cleveland

Don't know how long we've had this Taco Bell promotion, but I guess it is very exciting in Cleveland.

http://blogs.clevescene.com/cnotes/2007/12/crank_that_coup_with_andy_back.php

"Then there was the promotion for free Taco Bell chalupas if the Cavs scored 100, which had the stadium chanting "CHA-LU-PA" for a solid minute when the team was stuck on 98. Whoever came up with that is the LBJ of marketing."

Am I the only one...
who finds the chalupa thing at least mildly irritating?

It becomes the focus of the entire Rose Garden when the Blazers get close, and these are usually games we are winning.

I have four from this season already, and last night I gave them to my friend's brother. Then I felt bad because nobody needs Taco Bell, especially not him. Which raises a bigger question: why did i take them and keep them to begin with?

Lyndon Johnson or LeBron James?
Hate, Hate, Hate.

I don't remember there being a big deal made of the Chalupa's at the Milwaukee game which made me happy because the day that a crappy taco substitute becomes more important than the final score is the day that I quit my job and go to work as a carnie making curly fries in a trailer infested with rats.  I don't want to be a carnie.

Hate, hate, hate.

My ignorance is my greatest weapon

I had my first Chalupa this year
I happened to go out an exit that had the coupons.  It was also my last Chalupa.

It is more than a little annoying.  I have given up my rage on all the other time burners during timeouts, but the Chalupa chant happens during play and is more difficult to tune out.

I really wish we could just enjoy the games and not have all the other crap in-between play.  I go to the games with people that I like to converse with.  This is all of course excepting the Blazer Dancers.  They can be great conversation starters.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
