The Blazers have had some crappy TV deals. The fault rests with our owl lookalike, deep pocketed owner who is constantly trying something new. Largely because he can and the previous system he selected turned out to be awful. The 50 losses a year were not helping, to be sure. So a new season, a new TV deal. Seems pretty good, unless you have satelite. So here's my spiel:
I have Dish Network. For all the channels known to man, including all the movie channels it winds up costing the same as a much simpler package on Comcast. Plus I had a rather interesting experience with Comcast and their accounting practices.
I also have NBA league pass as well as the NBA channel. The league pass games featuring the Blazers will be blacked out.
The new Oregon Sports Network is only on Comcast despite promises to negotitate with Dish and direcTV, leaving me with the grand total of: 20 some odd games on KGW and ESPN/TNT. Plus the 10 games I have tickets for, and any other ones I will be able to attend as my schedule allows.
So I'm going to see about 35 games If I catch all the televised ones. Way to keep making the fan base disgusted, Blazers. The product is better but still, everyone likes winning. With all the positive changes you'd think the crazy TV deals would be gone. So there is my rant, I wonder if anyone else knows what will happen for us non-comcasters?
