CSNW - email response

I don't know if this means anything but I did receive a second email back from Comcast. The first was to acknowledge my writing to complain about the satellite situation. Late last week I received a second email asking who my provider was.

I take that as a good sign in that maybe they are trying to figure out who people are using and maybe how to proceed with the negotiations. I'm hoping for a follow-up message.

Anybody else get a message like this?

Comcast will use that info
to show your provider that they should pay the price because XXX number of subscribers want the channel. I would think it strengthens Comcast and weakens the provider's negotiation position.

Something I learned
this week is that many people are calling Comcast (the cable provider) rather than Comcast Sports.  They are two separate entities (with the same parents) and ComcastSports had to negotiate with Comcast Cable the same as with any other provider.  I'm sure that being siblings made the negotiations easier, but nonetheless Comcast has to pay Comcast Sports.   So calling Comcast Cable will be a waste of time.

At least they aren't on digital.  My cable box went out sometime over the weekend and I had to reconfigure wiring before I could watch live last night so I missed the entire first quarter.  (Went to watch on TiVo after the game started, but there was nothing for TiVO to record...) So exchanging the cable box is added to my list of pre-Thanksgiving errands.  Sigh.
