What Are They Teaching Nowadays?

Ted sends in a link to this video.  What they say about Greg Oden is funny but the best part is when they start discussing Kobe (who?) Bryant.

heh
Maybe Kobe should practice more and play some teamwork basketball... that's coming from 4th graders???  That's classic.

Somebody should let GO know he's only in his mid 40's, he's not 52, he's 42...  lol.

And the Barry comment that he cheated, sounds like somebody is actually teaching that kid..

30's or 40's was the common answer for Oden's age.  Lets hope that KP is smarter than a 5th grader...

Personally
I'm getting worn thin with the lame **** jokes about GO's looks/age/etc... It's got to kind of wear thin after awhile. Even if he says it doesn't, it has to after awhile, I mean, everyone has a self image and cares about what people say about them in one way or another. Maybe I'm being hypersensitive, I just think it's getting old.

It's getting old?
::snicker::

Sorry, couldn't resist.  Oden seems to have the right perspective, he makes the jokes, too.  But you are probably right, it probably does get to him a little bit.

joke will be on everybody else
because Greg will probably look about this age for the next thirty years and when he's 50 people will be commenting on how he still looks like he did when he was a teenager.

Does it count as a joke?
I think the kids were just calling 'em like they sees 'em.  I love how one kid said he was old because he is hairy.

the kids weren't joking
but obviously the commentator brought in the picture as a joke KNOWING that they wouldn't think he looked 19, that is very obvious. A

yeah...
Not sure that it's a dig.  Seems like there could be alot worse issues.  Besides, he does look old.  Let 'em all say he's an old man.  Sure, let 'em think that.

Like the previous comment that the joke will be on them, not us.  Don't forget he's making millions, I think he can take the age jokes, he makes them himself.

Heads
Imaging Oden and Durant swapping heads.  Would an old looking Durant be seen as having as much untapped potential?  Would a young looking Oden be perceived as injury prone?  Interesting to think about...

yeah
you do bring up a really good point there, very true I think.

I liked the kid
who said "apparently i dont know many soccer players" when asked about Kobe. And the other one that said "I know how Barry feels, ive broken records on my ps2 racing game."

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
