games with no local tv
i've been wondering what people do for these games that have no local tv coverage. (besides filling up the chat thread here on blazersedge). i usually find myself meeting some buddies at a sports bar. i feel like some of you must be doing the same thing (i saw on dave's poll a few weeks ago that i'm in this sites core demographic). i live in se portland and usually go to claudia's (3006 SE Hawthorne Blvd), and have also been to to a few others... but i digress, i'm not writing this diary to detail my bar habits, i'm writing to pose a few questions to my fellow readers:
does anyone else go out to watch these games that they can't watch at home? if so, where?
and who would be interested in attending some kind of massive blazersedge meetup for one of these non-televised games?

Could be fun... if...
I would dig a meet-up
But tickets are so cheap (and available), you should really get out to the Rose Garden (it's OUR house) and support the team. I dropped $199 on those season nosebleeds and have loved everyone of the games I have been to. Even those that don't end in a "W."
When unable to attend a game, or on the road, I always listen to 750 KXL. Wheels does a real good, homer job.
Show up some time! Check out a game live! Go Blazers!

Why not actually attend the game?
I've tried to hit up most of these non-televised games simply because they aren't televised.
And there are free tickets out there
I think sponsors/advertisers get free tickets that are (sometimes?) available to employees. At least that's how my daughter got comp tickets for two games (and perhaps more coming.) See if you know someone who works for a sponsor/advertiser.
The Oregonian had a promotion in which you'd get two tickets if you'd subscribe and agree to automatic payments.
Through Feb. 12 if you buy $25 worth of partipating products at Sentry, Select, or Thriftway stores you get a voucher for one free ticket. (Product brands include Tide, Downey, Folgers, Crest ... ) Of course $25 would buy you a nice seat, but then again if you do use toothpaste...
Rip City Magazine says these sports bars have prizes on game nights; I don't know if that includes tickets, but it might be worth checking out since you watch at bars anyway.
I , for one...
I also hope that everyone on blazersedge.com goes to a game this season.

But I guess I shouldn't tell you about the First Annual Naked Blogging Day that's coming up...

Meeting Proposal
No takers?
I wish I was closer to SOME of you folks because I get no respect as a Blazer fan here.
Have fun, get together, and enjoy your community. I miss Claudia's. If you would, pour some barly pop on the curb for your departed homey in the desert.
Dude!!!
Let me know when
For some reason there are many Laker fans here. We have San Antonio, Denver and Phoenix kind of close but everyone walks around in that awful purple and gold. Last year I saw one guy on campus with a Blazers jersey. It was Bonzi's!
