Dixons D'

In response to the poll regarding Juan's playing
time, I think the important thing to remember is
that he can't guard anyone. He plays D with his hands and though this yeilds an occasional steal,
most of the time it's the opposing guard in the
paint. At least Martell has been trying to play
defense, while growing into his future game.
Remember he's only 20.

Dixon
is a designated shooter. When he's 'on' he's terrific. When not, he's a liability.

Agreed
There is no doubt that if Martell continues improving that he will eventually be the person who plays as opposed to Juan, but right now I think that if Juan is hitting his shots that night, he's the go to shooter, if he's not he should be riding the bench for the night to make room for Martell.

Dixon's D
Dixon doesn't play D. He's the designated gunner with that group. That's why I think Joel should run with that group. He can erase the poor D by Juan and Martell by stepping out on the shooters off the pick and roll, making them change their shot, and he can challenge those guards when the go to the hole.

Wow. All 3 he's-gotta-make-shots comments . . .
. . . came in BEFORE he went 5 for 14 in Okie City.
3 for 5 from beyond the arc, but still--2 for 9 inside it.
Hope that wasn't his response to this diary post.

And is it just me, or should a New Orleans/ Oklahoma City team have
the abbreviation "NO/OK", like some sort of answer bubble to a yes/no question?

More to the point, can't they change their team name to "The Nookies"?
That's what I'VE been mentally referring to them as for a while now.

My name is Quality Pie, but everyone calls me Vickie. Please follow me.

I'd love to see
Joel running with the second unit as well, I've actually thought that a number of times.  I think it makes worlds more sense than Mags running w/ them.

Ohh and
I also hope that his 5 for 14 performance against The Nookies wasn't related to this post!

As stated... if he's on... if he's not he should be riding the bench and Martell should get those minutes (even if Martell is also not on that night).

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
