'Old Fart' Trivia

Just a little diversion from the serious side of basketball...

Did you know...
The original Trailblazer's logo was designed by Frank Glickman (Harry's brother)? It was the vertically oriented pinwheel which was later tilted 45 degrees. It symbolizes the game of basketball; five on five, with a feeling of motion. (One of the coolest logos in the league, by the way!)

Trail Blazers was originally two words and was not the most popular name submitted in the naming contest? The top name submitted was Pioneers, but that name could not be used because it already belonged to Lewis and Clark College.

Sidney Wicks, 6' 8" forward holds the team record for hauling in 27 rebounds in a game?

The very first year the Blazers made it to the playoffs, they went on to win the NBA Championship? Their record the previous year was 37-45 and last place in the Pacific Division.

Old Memorial Coliseum hosted the 1965 NCAA Men's Division 1 Championships, won by UCLA?

Anyone else got any?...
