GAMEDAY OPEN THREAD: Raptors vs. Blazers

Register your bold predictions of victory, cry your loud battle cries during the contest, and hopefully celebrate with whoops and hollers the longest Blazer winning streak in recent memory after the game is done.

not a letdown, not a letdown, Pleaaaaase not a letdown.
It wasn't the first time I'd been kicked in the cherries and called a rat by a woman, but it was the first time I didn't mind.

I will enjoy...
... my Christmas turkey so much more if the Blazers can take care of the Bosh-less Raptors.

score..
Predicted to be 96-87. Because of what I read, blazers are 8-0 when they hold opponents below 90 points. I would predict that score because if blazers can beat them on the road, they can beat them again with the crowd on the blazer's side. Well, the raptor's crowd was kinda on Blazer's side...haha.

Another one....
Can any of you smell that?

That, my friends, is the smell of a 6th straight win for our boys...

Inhale deeply, it's a sweet smell...

I am really liking what we're doing as a team, let's keep it ROLLING...

a winnable game
This is not an easy game- Toronto seems to have developed a rhythym playing without Bosh and they may get Garbajosa back for this one.

Zach should have a good game, especially if Garbajosa doesn't play.  I don't think they have anyone else who could slow Zbo down.

If Zach has his usual game and Jarrett/Brandon combine for something like 25 points and 10 assists, I think we'll get the win- not easily, but fairly convincingly- say, 95-84.

You guys have it all wrong! Portland won't win this game, it is the Raptors that will lose it!

LOL!
You've been reading Henry Abbott.   I've been thinking of writing a diary about the delights of being an underdog - and winning, but there's not a lot to say.  For me it's much more fun to win as the underdog rather than be expected to win them all.  But, of course, if I had to choose I'd pick being expected to win them all - but that leads to more agony and less fun.

sasas:)
Those blocks by Joel = goodness to the fullest. That two handed block on Garbejosa was incredible.

asds:(
Geez, even the Raptors get more respect from the refs than the Blazers.

Udoka gets hit on a 3point try and gets knocked into the third row, no whistle. TJ Ford on the next posession double teams Zach with the ball, hacks at him, no call.

by damir on Dec 22, 2006 8:00 PM PST reply actions

sdasd?
Wtf? TJ Ford just bumps into Zach, and Zach just tries to get loose from the defenders, and they call an offensive foul on him?

by damir on Dec 22, 2006 8:04 PM PST reply actions

a,sads.
Somebody tell Magloire that he needs to step the hell up when Ford and Nasterovic play the pick at the FT line and get a hand in Ford's face. Jesus. They just did this 4 times in a row, and Magloire did not step up.

goddammit
This was bullshit. Damn the refs for that stupid offensive foul on Roy in regulation. This is such garbage with all of the cheap fouls that they were calling all night.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
