Good Grief!

Dear Dave,
I have been a hospice worker for 15 yrs. I am blessed to have witness  hundreds of deaths and comforted countless family members.
Dave, when I read your initial post about the passing of your mother it hit me like a ton of bricks--and I felt so sad and tender towards your situation.
I have been reading this blog since last spring. I feel like I know a small part of you very well (as well as all the cast of characters who respond to this blog--). I am so fond of all of you. It did take me awhile to appreciate the genius(?) of fatty---but that is another story.
I would love for you to continue posting on how you are doing. I know that it will be entertaining, insightful, and thoughtful, much like this bog.
Take care,
 Lena
P.S. I tried to respond to the diary post but it would not let me.

Thanks Lena
I put thoughts on this subject down in a completely different blog.  It's here:

http://apassingobserved.blogspot.com/.

I don't know if you've read yet it or not.  I haven't updated there since the first day I posted there but I will.  I figured it was just better to keep the two subjects mostly separate.

I really appreciate all the things everybody said and mailed and, like you, continues to say.  Thanks.
