No doubt many of you have noticed the new trend in e-mail spam: two word title lines, seemingly randomly generated. I actually appreciate this because it makes them easier to avoid. Occasionally you will also get a funny combination. Usually I delete those things without looking past the first word, but there was one in my box last night titled:
delinquent crustacean
I assume these things are created with random word generators, hoping to hit someone interested in the subject. I didn't actually open the e-mail but I chuckled for a long time trying to figure out to whom it would appeal. That's got to be a pretty darn small segment of the population. Lobster truant officers? Parents of a 3rd grade crab fretting over his potential Harvard admission? Besides, the image of a bunch of baby brine shrimp out behind the trash bins smoking Luckys was just too much.
If any of you visit the beach this fall and see any of these young fellows, ask them what they're doing out of class.
